FUNDRAISING

INTRODUCTION

West Nile Welfare Association, as an independant charity, does not receive any funding from any core funding from either national or local government.

We currently require over £60,000 per year to provide all the services we offer to the West Nile Community in UK.

We raise the money we need through a variety of sources. The main source is still grants from Trusts and other Charitable organisations. However this still leaves a shortfall that is made up by fundraising events organized by the Association.

HOW WE FUNDRAISE

Cash Donations

These come from the general public or and members of the Association. Sometimes the money is from fundraising events held by the Association behalf. Cheques for donations, no matter what amount, are made payable to West Nile Welafare Association.

Clothing & Furniture Donations

Items you donate to sell in our jumbo sales  are always greatly appreciated. We accept clothing, books, toys, bric-a-brac and some items of furniture. We do not accept beds or matresses and we cannot accept electrical or gas appliances.

Events

We hold a variety of events throughout the year. All these are aimed to fundraise for the shortfall in our annual budget.

 Covenants

These are a commitment for a regular payment to be made to the charity by individuals or companies.

How to Help

Members of the Public

You may already be helping us through marketing, volunteering and donations, but how about fundraising?

Pubs

If you have one of our collection boxes at the bar, thanks for your help so far. If you have a sports team of some kind, would you enter an inter-pub competition? You could hold a race night or disco. How about encouraging your regulars to raise money for a specific project such as equipment for the office.

If you would like a collection box, we can supply them and collect them when they are full.

How you could help West Nile Welfare Association

Events

• Holding your own company event, such as a golf tournament or dinner.
• Asking staff to hold a raffle.
• Encouraging staff to hold their own sponsored events, e.g. sponsored swim

Sponsorship

• Sponsoring a project or event that West Nile Welfare Association are organising
• Sponsoring a newsletter or leaflet publicising services offered by West Nile Welfare Association.

Volunteering

• Allowing your employees to volunteer for one or two hours a month.

Obviously, being associated with a local charity provides good publicity and in addition, you will be serving the local community.

Your contribution in any capacity will greatly assist in how we help the people of West Nile Community.
